On Jan. 26, Presidential Adviser for Covid-19 Response Vivencio Dizon said that the National Task Force Against Covid-19 (NTF) will expand the “Resbakuna sa Botika” in Baguio City.

Dizon told President Rodrigo Duterte at Monday’s Talk to the People that the NTF will help speed up the rollout of booster shots in Baguio City due to an increase in Covid-19 cases there.

“We will first operate two pharmacies in Baguio City because many vaccine recipients are becoming ill,” Dizon stated in Filipino.

The NTF started the “Resbakuna sa Botika” campaign in Metro Manila last week, which aims to make Covid-19 booster doses more accessible to the public by making drugstores immunization locations.

Mercury Drug, Watsons, The Generics Pharmacy, Generika Drugstore, Southstar Drug, and Rose Pharmacy are among the participating pharmacies in Metro Manila.

Private clinics such as QualiMed and Healthway also took part in the “Resbakuna sa Klinika” project.

Dizon called the trial run a success and said the concept would be replicated in other parts of the country.

During the two-day pilot run of “Resbakuna sa Botika at Klinika” in the National Capital Region, the NTF claimed that 2,242 booster shots were given out.

“I believe the success of the ‘Bakuna sa Botika at Klinika’ pilot program points us in the right direction,” Dizon added. “(W)e have pharmacies throughout the country. This is, without a doubt, the way to go.”

Meanwhile, Dizon endorsed Senator Christopher Lawrence Go’s proposal to provide incentives to pharmacists who will offer Covid-19 booster doses as part of the new immunization effort.

He went on to say that they would talk to the Department of Health and the National Vaccination Operations Center about the situation.
