The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is currently looking into the disappearance of ten individuals who were last seen in various cockfighting areas in Laguna and Manila on January 13th.

“The CIDG is currently putting the pieces together. There are a number of similarities between these situations. In a statement released Thursday night, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said, “We will find out if there is a syndicate behind these cases.”

The first incidence included four male companions who went missing after participating in a cockfighting match in Laguna’s Sta. Cruz.

The vehicle used by the victims was seen exiting the coliseum on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage from the arena, although it was unclear whether the victims were inside.

Six other men went missing the same day after competing in a cockfighting contest in Manila.

A group of ten men from Bulacan who had gone to a cockfighting contest had previously been added to the list of missing people. These men have been missing for more than eight months, according to their relatives.

The CIDG is now pleading with the owners or management of cockfighting stadiums to assist in the inquiry into the missing men’s probable handlers or funders.
