Secretary Delfin Lorenzana of the Department of National Defense (DND) expects that the incoming administration would continue the agency’s and the Department of Public Works and Highways’ “Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad” (TIKAS) convergence program (DPWH).

Lorenzana made the statements after touring the 4th Infantry Division’s newly-opened administration facility in Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, as well as the hospital being erected for the unit’s personnel and their dependents.

“But the new hospital being built at Camp Evangelista in Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, has piqued my interest. Our station hospitals and medical facilities in various camps, as we all know, assist not only our soldiers and their dependents, but also members of the community, even pati mga nasusugatang (New People’s Army) NPA (even wounded NPAs) “Lorenzana said in a Thursday night Facebook post.

Both facilities are made feasible by the two agencies’ TIKAS initiative, which aims to meet the various facility needs of various Armed Forces of the Philippines units across the nation.

“Hoping that the DND-Philippines and DPWH’s TIKAS convergence initiative will be continued by the next government,” he added.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte conceived the TIKAS initiative in order to improve the country’s military infrastructure.
