From Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, 66 SM malls will participate in the government’s three-day big “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” immunization program, according to SM Supermalls president Steven Tan.

Tan said that concerted immunization efforts among the government, business sector, and people may put an end to the current Covid-19 outbreak at a ceremonial vaccination event at SM Masinag in Antipolo City.

“At SM Supermalls, we’ve always thought that getting vaccinated is the best way for Filipinos to protect themselves from the Covid-19 virus. We’ve accomplished a lot in the last several months working with the government “Tan remarked.

According to him, there are 71 immunization locations in various SM branches across the country.

He stated that around 6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccination have already been administered at these malls.

“Of that number, 200,000 are children between the ages of 12 and 17 who have been immunized in our malls,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Tan announced that the company’s 78 mall branches around the country have been awarded the safety seal, indicating the management’s commitment to safe malling.

“It is my honor to state that SM Supermalls, together with our private-sector partners, are proud partners of the Bayanihan, Bakunahan — a three-day major vaccination drive in 66 of our malls with the goal of immunizing 9 million Filipinos nationally,” Tan said.

Tan commended the national government for providing them with the “opportunity” to help accelerate the country’s immunization rate and for collaborating with them to lessen the pandemic’s effects.

“We’re excited to provide additional convenient and accessible immunization locations,” he said.

Tan also said that more than 500 National University alumni, staff, and students have volunteered to participate in the huge vaccination push, which would be coordinated by SM management.

“In our struggle against Covid-19, let us all be heroes. Vaccinate yourself, volunteer, and encourage your loved ones to do so “He urged mall visitors to get vaccinated.

“We are able to put an end to this catastrophe and establish not just a safer Christmas celebration, but a better, brighter future for all of us,” Tan said, emphasizing the people’s combined efforts.

Vaccinated people can get incentives and discounts at various SM stores across the country.

SM Supermall previously announced that it will provide a rehabilitation package to roughly 100 micro, small, and medium businesses (MSMEs).

MSME owners who already have an online business can sign up for the SM Startup Package to get the help or advantages they need to open their first physical store in one of 13 high-traffic SM malls nationwide, including SM City Cebu.

This help includes startup-friendly rental rates, free kiosk use, financial assistance through BDO Net Bank, and marketing assistance to provide the company free exposure in SM online assets and mall ad spaces.

Recipients may also be given premium mall locations.
