NCR number coding will restart on December 1st, according to the MMDA.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Tuesday that the updated number coding scheme will resume in the National Capital Region (NCR) on December 1.
MMDA head Benhur Abalos stated in a press conference that Metro Manila mayors have signed a resolution to reintroduce the plan due to an increase in automobile traffic.
The system will be applied during rush hour, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will apply to private automobiles.
Public utility vehicles (PUVs), such as tricycles, transport network vehicle service, motorcycles, garbage and fuel trucks, and vehicles transporting essential and perishable items, are exempt from the number coding scheme.
PUVs are exempt from the plan because they have a limited passenger capacity due to Alert Level 2 restrictions.
When the pandemic broke out last year, the number coding system was put on hold.
