On Tuesday, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 425 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, the lowest number since the pandemic’s peak last year.

According to the Department of Health’s most recent surveillance, active cases count 15,800, or 0.6 percent of the total confirmed cases since the epidemic began.

The positivity rate had also been below 3% for ten days, with only 2.1 percent on Tuesday based on the 24,442 people who had been tested for Covid-19 since November 28.

47.5 percent of active cases are mild, 5.3 percent are asymptomatic, 6.8 percent are critical, 16 percent are severe, and 24.42 percent are moderate.

The Department of Health also announced 909 new recoveries and 44 new fatalities, bringing the total number of recoveries and deaths to 2,768,389 and 48,545, respectively.

While the number of infections is decreasing, the Department of Health is reminding the public to stay vigilant and follow the minimum public health standards.

Patients in Covid-19 are currently occupying 26% of the 3,600 ICU beds, 26% of the 19,800 isolation beds, and 16% of the 13,200 ward beds across the country.

Meanwhile, patients in Metro Manila occupy around 25% of the 1,300 ICU beds, 23% of the 4,700 isolation beds, and 21% of the 3,900 ward beds.
