More people showed up and received their first dose during the National Vaccination Days from November 29 to December 1, according to a Department of Health (DOH) official in Region 7 (Central Visayas), including those who had not received any coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine since the national rollout began in March.

Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, DOH-7’s chief pathologist, gave data on the total number of persons who participated in President Rodrigo Duterte’s three-day nationwide vaccine drive during a news conference.

During the big campaign, she claimed, 631,450 vaccination doses were given out in the four provinces of Central Visayas.

Loreche, on the other hand, stated that the data gathered from November 29 to December 1 is not yet complete and that several local government units have yet to submit reports.

A total of 72,028 doses were delivered to vaccinees who showed up for their second dosage, while 8,372 doses were given as booster shots.

Loreche praised Lapu-Lapu City for administering 35,722 vaccines to everyone who showed up for their first dosage, equating to 122 percent of the 29,238 target vaccines.

82,719 people turned up for their first treatment in this capital city, accounting for 85 percent of the 96,924 objectives, whereas Mandaue City administered 18,727 doses, accounting for 83 percent of the 22,512 targets.

The four provinces of Central Visayas reported receiving less than half of the vaccine doses scheduled for the three-day events.

“We came in ninth place in Region 7 among the locations with the highest total accomplishments. “The Metro Cebu LGUs have done an outstanding job in achieving and exceeding the committed target,” Loreche added.
