France is on the Covid-19’red list,’ according to PH

France has been placed on the “red” list for Covid-19 by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), which implies that tourists from this country are prohibited from entering the Philippines due to a high risk of infection.

“The Inter-Agency Task Force approved the escalation of France to the red list of countries/territories/jurisdictions on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, effective December 10, 2021, 12:01 a.m. until December 15, 2021,” said Acting Presidential Spokesperson, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles in a press statement.

Passengers arriving in the Philippines on or after 12:01 a.m. on December 10, but before 12:01 a.m. on December 13, must undertake a 14-day facility-based quarantine, with a reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test on the seventh day, with day one being the date of arrival.

Regardless of a negative RT-PCR result, the 14-day quarantine must be completed.

Passengers coming from or who have been to France during the previous 14 days prior to arrival in the Philippines, regardless of vaccination status, will not be allowed entry into any Philippine port from 12:01 a.m. on December 13 to the end of December 15.

Only Filipinos returning to the country via government- or non-government-sponsored repatriation, as well as Bayanihan Flights, may be allowed admission, subject to existing testing and quarantine requirements for red-list countries, territories, and jurisdictions.

Regardless of the minor’s vaccination status, the testing and quarantine protocols for minors shall follow the testing and quarantine protocols of the parent/guardian traveling with them, as with any international inbound travel.

Regardless of the nation of origin, children aged three and under are excluded from the need of submitting a negative RT-PCR test result prior to boarding the flight, unless they are symptomatic.

Passengers who arrived before December 10 and are currently quarantined must complete the testing and quarantine processes that were in existence at the time of their arrival.

Passengers transiting through France are not considered to have arrived from or visited the country if they spent the entire time in the airport and were not cleared for entry by the country’s immigration authorities.

They must comply with the necessary testing and quarantine protocols for passengers who have not visited any red list nation, territory, or authority upon arrival in the Philippines.

Other nations on the Philippines’ red list include South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, and Mozambique, as well as Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, and Italy.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention added France on its “red list” on Wednesday. Andorra, Cyprus, Jordan, Liechtenstein, Portugal, and Tanzania are also on the list.

In mid-November, a rise in new infections led to an increase in patient numbers in France, resulting in a spike in Covid-19 admissions.
