The Department of Education will assist the Comelec in securing extra benefits for teachers.
The Department of Education (DepEd) will work with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to seek a larger budget from Congress for the honoraria and allowances paid to public school teachers who will work in the polls next year.
“However, we remain committed to assisting the Comelec in obtaining a greater budget from Congress in order to provide more benefits to our DepEd workers,” the Department of Education stated in a statement.
The agency stated that it would stand with the commission in its efforts to justify the advantages. These are the following:

The Department of Education also expressed gratitude to the poll authority for adjusting honoraria and allowances for public school teachers and poll workers.
The Comelec increased the honoraria and other allowances of poll workers who will work in the May elections by at least PHP2,000 last month.
