BUTUAN CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Department of Health in Caraga (DOH-13) reported Monday that coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections have continued to decline in the region.

According to data from the DOH-13, there were 284 additional recoveries in the region as of Sunday night, increasing the total number of recoveries to 5,291.

The DOH-13 reported that active cases in the region had dropped to 983 as a result of a large number of recoveries.

On Sunday, there were 46 additional Covid-19 cases reported in the area.

With the addition of the new cases, the total number of illnesses in the region has now reached 58,277.

In Agusan del Sur, 11 new illnesses were reported, nine in Surigao del Sur, four each in Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Norte, and one in the province of Dinagat Islands.

Nine additional cases have been reported in the region, including four in Surigao and two each in Bayugan and Cabadbaran.

With one new fatality on Sunday, the total number of Covid-19-related deaths in Caraga now stands at 2,003.
