The Department of Health reports that 329,005 children aged 5 to 11 had been immunized.

MANILA, Philippines β€” The Department of Health (DOH) revealed on Friday that the Philippines had vaccinated roughly 329,000 children aged 5 to 11 years old against the coronavirus illness in 2019 (Covid-19).

Only eight people had adverse reactions to the vaccine, according to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, who stated only eight people had rashes in their extremities, itchy throats, vomiting, and discomfort in the site with chills.

“Walo pa lamang po ang naitala nating non-serious adverse event sa humigit kumulang na 329,000 nating nabakunahan.” ‘Yung iba nagkalagnat,’yung iba nag-chills,’yung iba nagkalagnat,’yung iba nagkalagnat,’yung iba nagkalagnat,’yung iba nagkalagnat,’yung iba nagkalagnat,’yung iba nagkalagnat, (Of the 329,000 youngsters who received the vaccine, only 8 have experienced non-serious side effects.) They have a greater blood pressure than most people. Others experienced a fever or chills),” according to Vergeire.

She stated that the Department of Health is ensuring that health staff at vaccination sites are prepared to respond to any adverse events that may occur.

She also stated that the Covid-19 vaccinations that were provided were both safe and effective.

To now, the Pfizer vaccine is being used for pediatric vaccination because it is the only one that has gotten emergency use approval from the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for children aged 5 to 11.

Pfizer’s children’s vaccine has a lower dose and concentration than the vaccines supplied to minors aged 12 to 17, who began receiving their shots in October 2021.

The government plans to vaccinate more than 39.41 million children between the ages of zero and seventeen, with 12.74 million aged twelve to seventeen, 15.56 million aged five to eleven, and 11.11 million aged zero to four.
