Antique SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA. In the province of Antique, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) documented 1,230 children aged 5 to 11 receiving the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) immunization.

In an interview on Tuesday, IPHO information officer Irene Dulduco said the vaccinated children came from nine of the province’s 18 towns.

“There were already nine towns that had submitted their successes as of our reporting deadline on February 21,” she stated.

The towns of Anini-y had 317 vaccinees, Hamtic had 240, San Jose de Buenavista had 205, Bugasong had 110, Libertad had 96, Barbaza and Laua-an had 86 each, Sibalom had 60, and Caluya had 30.

On February 21, the towns of Patnongon and Sebaste began vaccinating children aged 5 to 11 years old.

On February 15, a ceremonial launch was held at San Jose de Buenavista.

In Antique’s 18 municipalities, the goal is to vaccinate 95,437 children of the same age range.

In terms of social mobilization, Dulduco stated that they require the assistance of barangay officials.

“Because the barangay captains are familiar with their people who are eligible for immunization, they may assist us in reaching out to them,” she said.

For this week, IPHO has 4,361 doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination available.
