During the Alert Level 3 in Metro Manila, the UniTeam camp of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte postponed all activities.

Marcos’ spokeswoman and lawyer, Vic Rodriguez, said in a statement on Monday that the presidential candidate has ordered all activities to be postponed until January 15.

After more than 20 staff members tested positive for Covid-19, the BBM-Sara UniTeam headquarters in Mandaluyong City has likewise been temporarily closed till further notice.

“However, through work-from-home arrangements and virtual meetings of the concerned staffers and campaign personnel, campaign preparations and other administrative activities of the UniTeam will continue nonstop,” Rodriguez noted.

The UniTeam urged its followers around the country to exhibit self-control and refrain from holding unilateral campaigns or political actions that could result in an increase in Covid-19 instances.

Antigen testing are required of all visitors and personnel at the duo’s campaign headquarters at least twice a week as a matter of policy.

The Commission on Elections’ spokesperson, James Jimenez, praised the UniTeam’s decision.

“Give credit where credit is due; this is a commendable initiative.” “However, it would be epic if the suspension of public appearances, sorties, and assemblies was extended until February 8, 2021,” he tweeted.
