Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, an independent presidential contender, stated he still had enough money to campaign for the rest of the year.

Lacson stated in a statement on Tuesday that this is due to the fact that many of his friends continue to donate to his cause.

He also stated that his campaign will change its messaging to dispel the perception among certain voters that voting for him will be a waste of time due to his low poll scores.

He stated that instead of going via political leaders, he will deliver his thoughts directly to voters. Some political figures are unhappy with his firm stance against abuses of the pork barrel system.

“I’m counting on folks to express their intent to vote for me,” Lacson continued.

He also admitted to changing his campaign slogan from “We Need a Leader!” to “We Have a Leader!” after former House Speaker and Partido Reporma president Pantaleon Alvarez, who is now endorsing Vice President Leni Robredo’s candidacy.
