MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) revealed on Monday that the daily average of Covid-19 cases from March 28 to April 3 was 272, which is 29 percent fewer than the number of new infections before the week in question.

According to the DOH’s most recent case bulletin, there have been 1,906 new cases of coronavirus disease in 2019 (Covid-19) in the last week.

There were no new cases added to the 707 cases of severe and critical infections within the same time period.

Only 16.4%, or 4,045, of the country’s 24,689 intensive care unit (ICU) beds are used, while 18.4%, or 542, of the 2,951 non-ICU beds are occupied.

Meanwhile, there have been 428 confirmed deaths in the last week.

Vaccination against Covid-19 has reached 74.05 percent of the country’s target population.

According to the Department of Health, 76.12 percent of older individuals have been immunized against the disease.

The elderly make up 8,721,357 people, while the target demographic for vaccination is 80 percent of the population (90,005,357 people).

According to DOH data as of April 10, 66,652,616 people have had their full vaccinations, while 12,477,480 people have received their booster injections.
