The government of Lao PDR and Rwanda has approved Covid-19 vaccination certificates.
MANILA, Philippines — Upon arrival in the Philippines, travelers can now produce their national coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) immunization certificates from Lao PDR and Rwanda, according to Malacanang.
The approval and recognition of the two countries’ national Covid-19 immunization certificates were accepted by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
Resolution 167, which was accepted on Thursday, contains the latest IATF-EID judgment.
Acting Presidential spokesperson and Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said in a press statement that Lao PDR and Rwanda’s national Covid-19 immunization certificates can be utilized for arrival quarantine protocols, as well as inter-zonal and intrazonal transit.
“This is in addition to other countries/territories/jurisdictions whose evidence of vaccination the IATF has already certified for recognition in the Philippines,” he stated, “and without prejudice to such other proofs of vaccination approved by the IATF for all inbound tourists.”
Only the evidence of vaccination recognized by the IATF-EID will be accepted by the Bureau of Quarantine, the Department of Transportation’s One-Stop-Shop, and the Bureau of Immigration, according to Andanar.
The World Health Organization International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis, VaxCertPH, national or state digital certificates of a foreign country accepting VaxCertPH, and other proof of vaccination approved by the IATF-EID are among the other valid proofs of Covid-19 vaccination.
Foreign visitors are currently permitted to enter the Philippines without presenting an entry exemption document as long as they meet all visa requirements and immigration entry and exit procedures.
They must have passports valid for at least six months when they arrive, as well as valid tickets for their return voyage to the port of origin or next port of destination within 30 days of their arrival.
They must obtain travel insurance for Covid-19 treatment costs from reputed insurance carriers before arriving in the Philippines, with a minimum coverage of USD35,000 for the duration of their stay in the country.
Foreigners who do not completely comply with the IATF-rules EID’s and requirements will be denied access and will face appropriate exclusion actions.
