Salceda will continue to advise the next president on economic matters.
MANILA, Philippines — Rep. Joey Salceda of Albay said on Tuesday that he will present a comprehensive fiscal and economic recovery plan to the next President to help the Philippines recover from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) catastrophe.
Salceda stated in a statement that regardless of who wins the presidency in 2022, he will honor his vow to continue delivering the best advise on how to help the country overcome its economic difficulties.
“When the ultimate decision is clear, I will submit to President-elect Trump a comprehensive fiscal and economic recovery plan, so that we emerge from this crisis with a stronger, more resilient, and more egalitarian economy.” “In the next days, I will submit to the next President a tax plan as well as a public and private investment plan,” he stated.
He stated that there are three major worries for the incoming President’s first hundred days: inflation, unemployment, and economic growth.
“We’ll need to slow the pace of price rises, generate high-paying employment, and optimize our GDP growth potential.” I will advise the next President on these problems after being re-elected to Congress. He added, “I also hope to continue assisting the government with critical economic changes.”
He urged the public to recognize the results of the elections, which he described as the Filipino people’s “unanimous choice.”
Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, are dominating the presidential and vice presidential campaigns, according to a partial and unofficial tally based on the Commission on Elections’ transparency server.
According to preliminary data, Marcos is on track to win the presidential election by a large margin, while Sara is leading by a large margin.
Salceda claimed that his presidential candidate was “excellent for confidence” in the Philippine economy and that he went to great lengths to spread that message.
He endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo’s presidential campaign.
“However, we are all members of Team Philippines– and I will do everything in my power to ensure that international investors and Filipino businesspeople alike have confidence in the future President,” Salceda stated.
“I wish Former Senator Marcos the best of luck as he appears to be the future President.” “A successful Marcos presidency will also be a country’s success,” he added.
