MANILA, Philippines — The meteorological bureau predicted fair weather with sporadic rain showers in most parts of the country on Wednesday.

According to Grace Castaneda of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration, the low-pressure area (LPA) last spotted near Coron, Palawan, has a limited possibility of developing into a tropical cyclone and would likely evaporate within the day (PAGASA).

“It will, however, provide rain to a large area of southern Luzon. Prepare for probable flooding and landslides by taking precautions and staying alert “she stated

The LPA is expected to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Bicol and Mimaropa regions, as well as Quezon province.

According to Castaneda, the rest of Luzon will enjoy mostly clear skies, with the possibility of scattered rainfall triggered by localized thunderstorms.

Temperatures in Tuguegarao might reach 35°C, while Manila could reach 33°C.

The Visayas will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainfall, while Mindanao will experience mostly clear skies with isolated rains brought on by localized thunderstorms.

“Be aware that flooding is still a possibility during intense thunderstorms,” she said.

In Zamboanga, temperatures could reach 34°C; in Davao, Cebu, and Tacloban, 33°C; and in Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro, 32°C.

Meanwhile, light to moderate breezes and mild to moderate seas will continue to affect the entire country.
