The Old Ospital ng Maynila will be renamed PLM College of Medicine.
MANILA – The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) College of Medicine and Allied Health Services will soon take over the ancient building of the Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center.
During the school’s 55th foundation anniversary celebration on Monday, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and PLM president Emmanuel Leyco signed the deed of donation for the old edifice.
“Andidito na, pirmado na (Here it is, signed).” In his speech, Leyco stated, “We have a new campus.”
The nursing, physical therapy, and science colleges, as well as the School of Public Health, would all relocate to the new location.
PLM will be able to accommodate more students in the future, according to Leyco.
The construction of the Bagong (New) Ospital ng Maynila will begin in 2020.
Domagoso donated the modern Ospital ng Maynila facility to PLM the following year.
The Bagong Ospital ng Maynila will open on June 24, coinciding with the 451st “Araw ng Maynila” event (Manila Day).
“Magamit na magamit na magamit na magamit na magamit na (the hospital can already be used). While we’re doing that, the transition for PLM to make the building fit, physically fit ‘yung (the) building, para sa inyo, ‘yun po ang mga susunod na mangyayari (for the students),” Domagoso added.
The 10-story Bagong Ospital ng Maynila on Quirino Avenue received PHP2.3 billion from the city government.
The hospital, which is entirely air-conditioned, contains 384 beds, 12 intensive care units, 20 private rooms, a three-story parking space, and a helipad for emergency situations.1
