The National Capital Region’s (NCR) positivity rate, or the number of people who tested positive for Covid-19, marginally increased from 14.3% on July 23 to 14.5 five days later.

Dr. Guido David, a fellow of the OCTA Research Group, stated in a tweet on Friday that the average daily attack rate in the NCR is 7.80 cases per 100,000 people, while the reproduction rate is 1.28.

With 2,180 beds occupied, the health care usage rate is 36.9 percent.

There are 10 regions in the country where the positive rate is more than 20%: Aklan (33.1%), Antique (25.2%), Cagayan (20.9%), Capiz (48.8%), Cavite (26.5%), Isabela (31.7%), Laguna (30.6%), Nueva Ecija (23.4%), Pampanga (25.2%), and Tarlac (33.1%).

The Omicron BA.5 subvariant of the coronavirus disease 2019 was reported in 890 more patients by the Department of Health on Thursday, but 823 of them have already made a full recovery.

In total, 1,997 cases of the BA.5 subvariant, 71 cases of BA.4, and 154 cases of BA.2.12.1 have been reported in the nation.

As of last Thursday, there were 29,897 active Covid-19 cases overall.
