Due to poor weather, six Philippine Airlines (PAL) flights to and from Japan on Monday have been canceled.
These were flights PR 438/437 from Manila to Nagoya, PR 426/425 from Manila to Fukuoka, and PR 412/411 from Manila to Osaka.
No other airline has canceled any of its flights between Japan and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, according to the Manila International Airport Authority, as of 9 a.m. on Monday.
Public broadcaster NHK said on Sunday that Typhoon Nanmadol is approaching Japan, and 2 million people on the southern island of Kyushu have been advised to leave.
High gusts, storm surges, and torrential rainfall were all predicted for the area.
The Japanese government has urged people in the impacted areas to locate other housing that can endure severe weather.
