By supplying new farm equipment to nine agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs) in Ilocos Sur, the Department of Agrarian Reform anticipates that they will boost their production and revenue (DAR).

According to a news release released by DAR on Monday, the ARBOs can now mechanize their farming operations after the department gave them farm machinery and equipment valued at PHP5.2 million, made possible by the agency’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project.

“The agricultural equipment would speed up and simplify farming for the ARB. Moreover, according to Primo Lara, a former regional director for the Ilocos, it will raise their revenue and yield. To increase production and mitigate the consequences of climate change, ARBs can now modify their regular farming schedule to coincide with the best time of the season.

The nine ARBOs that were awarded FMEs are the Arnap Sunrise ARC MPC in Cabugao, the Sunggiam Multi-Purpose Cooperative in San Juan, the Macati Rang-ay Farmers AR Cooperative, and the Lesseb Santa Maria Farmers Association, Inc. in Sta. Recall that DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III stated that one of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s objectives was to improve farmers’ lives by offering various support services.
