An in-app chat will soon be released by Mynt, the company behind the e-wallet software GCash, to further enhance security measures.

Digital Experience chief Michelle Fernandez stated that using chat is expected to result in transactions that are seamless and error-free on Thursday night at a presentation.

This function would eliminate the need to type or copy-paste someone’s GCash number when sending money.

She explained that sending money was simple as long as the recipient’s phone number was saved in your phonebook, emphasizing that doing so would stop consumers from having to do extra steps and miss out on transactions.

Also, since customers no longer need to transmit a screenshot of the transaction, for example, this makes it hassle-free for them.

Fernandez emphasized that this is advantageous for businesses since it will help them avoid con artists.

The sender could quickly confirm with the recipient via chat if the money had been received.

She claimed that receipts could be easily tracked.

In the meantime, Mynt announced that it would soon launch a physical card and a Visa card while continuing to innovate GCash.

The latter will provide consumers access to their card balances for transactions in 200 places.

Almost 79 million users have enrolled for GCash as of this writing.

Also, the business revealed that soon foreign-based Filipinos would be allowed to register without a local subscriber identity module (SIM) card.
