In Pangasinan, only one Covid-19 bed is still available.
According to the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force, the occupancy rate of specialized coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) beds in Pangasinan is now at 0.1 percent (IATF).
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief, Rhodyn Lunchivar Oro, stated during the Provincial Board’s (Sangguniang Panlalawigan) question hour on Monday that only one bed out of the province’s 1,084 allocated beds were filled as of Monday.
He linked the reduced hospital bed occupancy to the province’s sluggish Covid-19 transmission.
“As of November 30, the province’s attack rate was.41 percent, compared to 7.0 percent in the prior report,” he stated.
According to Oro, the average case count for November was 149, and it has been steadily decreasing.
According to the Provincial Health Office’s latest Covid-19 data, Pangasinan had just three new cases as of 6 p.m. on December 5, bringing the total number of active cases to 61, with 35,490 total confirmed cases.
“We’ve been tallying single-digit numbers of new Covid-19 verified cases in recent weeks,” he said.
Governor Amado Espino III, the chairman of the Provincial IATF, has instructed them to continue to apply effective and efficient measures to combat the threat of the new Covid-19 variation, Omicron, according to Oro.
“We were told to coordinate with the Philippine National Police, the Navy, and the Pangasinan seaports that are being visited by foreign warships,” he said.
Despite the Omicron fear, Oro said land border controls are still in place and isolation facilities are being maintained.
