The efforts of the national and local governments to make immunization of their children aged 5 to 11 a pleasurable experience were lauded by parents in Quezon City.

During the test rollout on Monday at the SM Skydome along Edsa, the immunization area includes bright patterns and mascots to calm the children’s fears.

In a letter to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Tuesday, the QC Public Affairs and Information Services Department claimed 589 people were vaccinated in the mall, while 753 others received their first shots at the National Children’s Hospital and the Philippine Heart Center.

The municipal administration also launched a second pediatric immunization facility at Eton Centris, on the corner of Edsa and Quezon Avenue, with 2,000 doses, compared to 1,000 at the Skydome.

“Yehey! “Mababakunahan na ang mga bata, me panlaban na sila sa virus, hindi na sila basta-basta kakapitan ng sakit,” Karen Samson wrote on the QC Government’s Facebook page.

Evangeline Abella wrote, “Mag-eenjoy ang mga bata sa kanilang pagbabakuna, happy ang kanilang magiging experience sa kanilang vaccination (The children will have a delightful and happy vaccination experience).”

The setup is “encouraging for the children,” according to netizen Gian San Pedro.

Those who are unable to reserve slots for their children have been encouraged to be patient by the local government.

“Pasensya na po, dahil sa mataas may demand at mababang supply ng bakuna, labis na mabilis maubos ang slots ng bakuna para sa minors.” Ang ating supply ng bakuna ay nakadepende sa natatanggap mula sa (We apologize, but due to high demand and short supply, the spaces for children quickly fill up. The city government stated, “Our vaccination supply is contingent on what we receive from the national government.”
