MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) revealed on Monday that the daily average of Covid-19 cases was 389 from March 21 to 27, which is 24% lower than the number of new infections before the week in question.

According to the Department of Health’s most recent case bulletin, there were 2,726 new cases of coronavirus disease in 2019 (Covid-19) in the previous week.

There were no new cases added to the 758 cases of severe and critical infections within the same time period.

Only 16.7%, or 4,613, of the country’s 27,547 intensive care unit (ICU) beds are in use, while 15.1 percent, or 484, of the 3,204 non-ICU beds are.

Meanwhile, there have been 655 confirmed deaths in the last week.

Covid-19 vaccination has reached 72.93 percent of the country’s target population.

According to the Department of Health, 75.56 percent of older individuals have been immunized against the disease.

The elderly make up 8,721,357 people, while the target demographic for vaccination is 80 percent of the population (90,005,357 people).

According to DOH data as of March 27, 65,640,834 people have had their full vaccinations, while 11,825,403 people have received their booster injections.
