The Taguig City government has immunized over 10,000 people through its School Tour: One-Stop Shop Bakuna for children aged 5 to 17 as full face-to-face lessons have resumed following a two-year break caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Taguig’s efforts to assist the Department of Health (DOH) include the vaccine program “Campaign for Immunization with PinasLakas.

The Taguig local government stated in a statement on Sunday that beginning Aug. 15, 2022, children in 23 elementary and high schools have also received first and second booster shots as part of the school immunization push.

To further assure everyone’s safety and to urge more people to receive their booster injections whenever they are eligible, the municipal administration plans to visit more schools to administer Covid-19 vaccinations to children and educators.

The “PinasLakas Immunization Campaign” is a component of the Department of Health’s (DOH) national initiative to immunize 90 percent of senior citizens and boost booster coverage of all eligible populations to 50 percent by focusing on people from a variety of communities including schools, markets, and transportation hubs.

Taguig had worked with the Department of Education – Division Office to accelerate and broaden the Covid-19 vaccination campaign for kids prior to the DOH “PinasLakas Immunization Campaign” in order to get them ready for in-person lessons.

From Monday through Friday, anybody who qualifies can visit the Taguig vaccination hubs at the Lakeshore Vaccine Information Center, Venice Grand Canal Mall, and Bonifacio High Street.

Additionally, eligible individuals can receive Covid-19 immunization every Monday, Tuesday, or Friday at all barangay health centers.

The city has administered 2,124,944 vaccinations as of October 28th, including 327,066 who received their first booster injection and 39,739 who received their second booster dose.
