As the appointment embargo ends, PBBM suggests a Cabinet rearrangement
The one-year moratorium on the selection of candidates for the May 2022 elections expired on Tuesday, which means that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Cabinet will soon undergo a restructuring.
Before the 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits in Indonesia began, Marcos gave the media a briefing and confirmed this.
By the end of his first year in office, Marcos stated that he will likely appoint some politicians who lost in the elections of May 9, 2022 to his Cabinet.
He claimed that the first year was sufficient to judge and evaluate the effectiveness of his Cabinet members.
In a sense, everyone’s on-the-job training is complete. “In a sense, everyone’s OJT is complete. We’ve observed who performs well and who would be critical to our work,” he said.
“Yes, there will still be… Reorganization sa Gabinete (in the Cabinet),” he added, “I don’t know about the reshuffle.
In accordance with the Constitution of 1987, losers are prohibited from taking office within a year of the election.
