For the second day in a row, PH injects over 1 million Covid-19 vax dosages.
According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid, the country injected more than one million doses of the coronavirus vaccine for the second day in a row on Thursday, with 1,239,981 doses delivered.
Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the NTF’s chief, said the increase in throughput means the “economy will soon recover” from the effects of the healthcare crisis.
“We are really glad to see that all sectors of society’s hard work, commitment, and coordinated effort are paying off and moving us closer to our objective of obtaining a 1.5 million daily jab rate,” he said in a statement on Friday.
According to the most recent data from the National Vaccination Operations Center, the Philippines has already provided 68,056,957 doses, protecting 31,020,380 Filipinos.
The country’s average daily immunization rate jumped to 748,839 doses in the last seven days, compared to 300,000 to 400,000 doses in the prior weeks.
On Wednesday, 1,052,600 people were injected, up from 749,424 on Monday and 817,010 the day before.
Galvez said the vaccination campaign in all local government units (LGUs) nationally will surely increase, citing the growing number of Covid-19 vaccines in the stockpile.
“We’re currently working to increase the country’s momentum in immunizing millions of people in a single day.” We will ensure that this work is sustained as we continue to strengthen our LGUs’ capacities, solve the shortage of manpower in vaccination sites, and promote vaccine demand among our people,” Galvez added.
LGUs and the commercial sector, according to the vaccine czar, assist the national government in making the immunization program successful.
“This is why we feel that the degree of support from all levels of government, as well as the corporate sector, should not wane and should continue to grow as we expand our immunization campaign,” he said.
So far, the Philippines has received 121,979,340 Covid-19 vaccinations, both purchased and donated, with another 46 million doses expected in the coming days.
