Agricultural and infrastructural devastation caused by ‘Odette’ has reached P28-B.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), the entire cost of damage to agriculture and infrastructure caused by Typhoon Odette has risen to more than PHP28 billion.

Agriculture damage totaled PHP10.9 billion in the areas of Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao region, Soccsksargen, and Caraga, according to the agency’s latest situation report.

Infrastructure damage in Mimaropa, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, on the other hand, has reached PHP17.7 billion (BARMM).

Houses were damaged in Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao area, Soccsksargen, Caraga, and BARMM, totaling 1,360,203.

991,762 of them were classified as lightly damaged, while 368,411 were classified as completely destroyed.

As of this writing, 75 people have died as a result of “Odette,” with 188 others injured and six still missing.

Reports of 332 deaths, 1,073 injuries, and 60 missing people are still being verified.
