Work at DOLE’s main office in the National Capital Region has been halted until January 17th.
Starting Friday, the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) headquarters office in Intramuros and a regional office in the National Capital Region (NCR) will be closed for two days.
The stated offices will be closed until January 17 due to an increase in coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in the department, according to a memo issued by Secretary Silvestre Bello III on Thursday.
According to Bello, the number of Covid-19 infections in the DOLE central office had reached 128, or about 21% of the 600 employees.
The work stoppage was also established due to an increase of Covid-19 instances, primarily in the National Capital Region.
All heads of offices, services, and agencies, including the NCR regional office, have been told to resume work on January 18.
The Philippines experienced another single-day high for new infections on Thursday, with 34,021, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,092,409.
There were 2,802,286 recoveries, 237,387 active cases, and 52,654 fatalities in all.
