In the midst of moves to ease restrictions and allow more mobility, a Cebu amusement park operator expressed optimism about the continued economic recovery, which would benefit recreation and theme parks.

Chester Lim, president of Anjo World Theme Park in Minglanilla, southern Cebu, said on Wednesday that they fully support the provincial government’s efforts to open up Cebu in order to revive jobs and help businesses.

In an interview, he said, “Anjo World is one with the province standing up again so the economy will recover.”

As the Christmas season approaches, Lim, who is also the president of the Philippine Retailers Association in Cebu, expects more foot traffic.

Despite the fact that the two-year-old theme park has reopened to the public, he said they recognize the importance of ensuring the safety of their guests and employees in accordance with government regulations.

“To ensure the safety of our guests and employees, we continue to follow standard health and safety protocols.” Let us all take pleasure in the festivities that this season brings with our families and friends,” he said.

Prior to the pandemic, the amusement park had a daily visitor count of 15,000 people.

Because they are currently operating at 70% of their capacity, as allowed by the government, Lim is optimistic that foot traffic will increase.

Anjo World has become a new tourist attraction in the southern part of Cebu since it opened two years ago.
