In terms of single-day jabs, PH is ranked fourth in the world.

According to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, the Philippines is ranked fourth in the world for the maximum number of Covid-19 vaccinations provided in a single day.

“According to the latest report, ang Pilipinas ay nasa number 4 globally, ang rank natin (the Philippines is ranked number 4 globally) for having vaccinated 2.7 million people in a single day,” Duque said, noting that the country has so far vaccinated three times its usual rate during the Bayanihan, Bakunahan Covid-19 vaccination drive.

The Philippines is followed by China, which has 22 million doses, India, which has 10 million, and the United States, which has 3.48 million doses, and Brazil, which has 2.6 million doses.

“But if you look at it in terms of population—Yung laki ng populasyon—Aba! number one tayo, kasi 110 million lang tayo eh ang China, India 1 billion pero mga iyan eh ang population nila more than 1 billion,” Duque added.

The Philippines has administered 89,070,292 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine across the country, with 51,811,422 doses utilized as the first shot, 36,869,419 Filipinos entirely protected from the disease, and 389,41 vulnerable individuals receiving booster shots and further doses.

The average vaccination rate has grown to 1,505,991 doses in the last seven days, with 2,713,731 doses administered on Monday, 2,466,728 doses administered on Tuesday, and 2,447,973 doses administered on Wednesday.

The government has so far reported that 7,628,432 doses were administered over the three-day timeframe of the huge immunization effort, with more tallies to come.

Duque expressed optimism that the country would be able to maintain the benefits of the ‘Bayanihan, Bakunahan’ vaccination campaign, such as a higher average daily immunization rate.

“I’m hoping we can keep the momentum going,” he remarked.

To achieve population protection, Duque restated the government’s goal of fully vaccinating at least 54 million Filipinos by the end of this year.

Duque, like other government officials, emphasized the need for various local government units in expanding the country’s Covid-19 vaccine program.
