Based on partial records, the Nationwide Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) estimated that more than eight million doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine were given out during the three-day national “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” campaign.

Myrna Cabotaje, the NVOC chairperson and DOH Undersecretary stated during the Laging Handa public briefing on Friday that the campaign’s final count will be announced around 6 p.m. after regions submit their reports.

As of 6 a.m. Friday, 2,709,344 doses had been injected on Monday, 2,475,479 doses on Tuesday, and 2,829,928 doses had been administered on Wednesday.

Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and Central Visayas were among the top-performing regions.

“During the three days, they accounted for almost a third of the eight million jabs,” Cabotaje added.

Cebu Province, Negros Occidental, and Cavite were the provinces with the best results.

Local governments have been given permission to extend the major vaccination effort through Friday, but they will not be counted in the final total.

Two more days of enhanced immunization are available in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Bicol, Western Visayas, Soccsksargen, and Central Visayas.

“‘Yung mga pinerform nila nung December 2 atsaka December 3, kasama na yan sa usual na daily jab rate na ating itatala,” she said.

The partial vaccination throughput during the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” days boosted the total number of vaccine doses provided in the Philippines to 90,214, 170 since the March rollout.

37,334,887 were second doses, and 421,406 were booster or supplementary shots for healthcare staff, senior citizens, and immunocompromised individuals, out of the total jabs injected.

The country’s average daily immunization rate jumped to 1,515,884 doses in the last seven days, up from 1,010,869 the week before.
