During the five-day nationwide vaccination drive, a total of 9,937,827 people were vaccinated against coronavirus disease in 2019 (Covid-19), according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The program was a “great success,” according to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, as the country exceeded its goal of inoculating at least nine million individuals.

According to Vergeire, the country also had the largest number of daily vaccinations, with 2.82 million.

The vaccination program, which was scheduled to run from November 29 to December 1, was extended by two days, to December 3. Another leg will take place from December 15 to 17.

Vergeire asked local government entities to accept vaccines even if they had not previously registered, as the country strives to ensure population protection as soon as feasible.

“Kung saka-sakaling pupunta na ang ating mga mga kababayan sa vaccination sites, sana po payagan natin silang mabakunahan kahit hindi sila nakapag-register because we lose the opportunity if we still send them home,” she said.

The Philippines has received 146 million doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines, with over 90 million doses delivered so far.

According to the most recent data from the Department of Health, 37.56 million people have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with 443,985 receiving booster shots.
