PH records 882 new Covid-19 recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases down to 12,000.
After 882 fresh recoveries on Thursday, the country’s total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has risen to 2,773,891.
The Department of Health (DOH) reported in its most recent case bulletin that recoveries account for 97.8% of the total case count of 2,835,996 since the epidemic began last year.
Meanwhile, 562 new infections were reported, bringing the total number of current cases to 12,169 across the country.
There are 4,838 light cases, 851 asymptomatic patients, 446 critical cases, 2,177 severe cases, and 3,857 moderate cases among active cases.
With 176 more deaths, the death toll has risen to 49,936.
“Only eight deaths were reported in December 2021, out of a total of 176. Due to late transmission of death information to COVID-Kaya, about 7% of today’s reported deaths happened in November 2021 “According to the Department of Health.
The COVID-Kaya is a digital application that allows health care professionals to collect and share information regarding Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health has stated that this issue is being coordinated with the Epidemiology and Surveillance Units to ensure that information is updated.
On Dec. 7, the Department of Health reported that roughly 1.6 percent of 33,295 people tested positive for Covid-19.
“The total case count was reduced by about 14 duplicates, 12 of which were recoveries and one was a death. In addition, 157 cases tested negative and were categorized as recoveries following final validation “According to the Department of Health.
After final validation, 156 cases that were previously labeled as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities.
On Dec. 7, two laboratories were unable to submit data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System because they were not operational.
Based on statistics from the previous 14 days, the two laboratories provide zero percent of samples tested and zero percent of positive persons, according to the DOH.
Patients with Covid-19 have used 26 percent of 3,600 ICU beds, 24 percent of 19,600 isolation beds, 13 percent of 12,800 ward beds, and 14 percent of 3,000 ventilators nationwide to date.
Meanwhile, the National Capital Region has 29 percent of 1,300 ICU beds, 21 percent of 4,700 isolation beds, 19 percent of 3,800 ward beds, and 17 percent of 1,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19.
