MANILA – Presidential candidate Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso of the Aksyon Demokratiko is wooing Visayas voters with promises of development through his own “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure program.

On the second day of his Samar visit, Domagoso and his running companion, Dr. Willie Ong, as well as their senatorial candidates, visited Northern Samar, including the municipality of Allen, where Domagoso’s late mother, Rosario, grew up.

Despite being born and reared in Tondo, Manila, Domagoso considers himself a true Visayan because his late father, Joaquin, is from Antique province.

So, if you’re looking for a change, Doc Willie and I, as well as Samira Gutoc, Carl Balita, and Jopet Sison, are looking for job. In his remarks, he stated, “We shall work hard).”

The political colors connected with the Marcos and Aquino families were mentioned by Domagoso.

The Aksyon team landed in Calbayog on Monday and traveled across Eastern Samar, finishing the day at Catbalogan.

“Alam mo ang Samar, correct me if I’m wrong, but walang na-elect dito as national official for the past 60 years.” Walang senator ‘to, walang vice president ‘to, wala pa kayong presidente, 60 years mahigit, I mean on a national basis. I believe the last time that happened was in the 1950s. My point is, if itong Waray-Waray nating mga kababayan, kahit anong kulay ng partido nila sa lokal, baka naman pwede nyong pagkaisahan? ‘ Yung anak ng Waray, di ba? (Correct me if I’m wrong, but Samar hasn’t produced a national official, senator, vice president, or president in the last 60 years.) I believe the last time that happened was in the 1950s. Perhaps it’s past time, I suggest to my Waray Waray neighbors. “Why not a Waray’s son)?” Domagoso explained.

Domagoso promised to fight poverty, hunger, unemployment, inequality, and social injustice if elected.

He said he will focus on providing the bare minimum of fundamental requirements, including as housing, education, health care, and jobs, as he did in Manila, by efficiently and sensibly managing the government’s resources.

These, he stated, are the foundations of his 10-Point Bilis Kilos (Quick Action) Economic Agenda.

Domagoso stated that he has vowed to repeat the programs he has completed in Manila throughout the country, including the delivery of help.

According to the 2020 census, Samar is the Philippines’ third largest and seventh most populous island, with a population of 1,909,537 people.

It is especially vulnerable to typhoons, and the provinces of Leyte and Samar were particularly heavily struck by Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
