CITY OF COTABATO – The Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA) Program, which is supported by the European Union (EU), handed over PHP27 million in ICT equipment to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (BARMM) Office of Chief Minister (OCM) Ahod Ebrahim and the regional parliament on Wednesday.

Laptops, desktop computers, projectors, printers, communications equipment, office furniture, and conference tables were among the items supplied by SUBATRA.

According to Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, director-general of the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), the donated equipment will enable staff of the involved organizations to provide good services and improve and simplify their respective operations.

In a statement, Ali said, “We’re hopeful that these pieces of equipment will help the BARMM staff improve their capacity and expertise in offering good services.”

SUBATRA was also thanked by Datu Aldren Utto, an administrative assistant from the OCM-Administration Management System Human Resources Management.

“I am one of the recipients of the given equipment.” “These will assist us in performing our tasks more effectively because they will speed up our work,” Utto explained.

Aside from providing ICT equipment, SUBATRA is committed to providing BARMM staff with a variety of training and workshops to help them improve their agency’s capabilities.

Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament Deputy Speaker Omar Yasser Sema; BTA Majority Floor Leader Lanang Ali Jr., heads and representatives from offices under OCM and BTA; SUBATRA team leader Bernard Jolly; and UN Office for Project Services Project Manager for SUBATRA Cristina Elisse Capistrano were also present at the turnover ceremony.

SUBATRA is an EU-funded program that fosters a good governance environment for the effective implementation of the transition plan’s policies, with an emphasis on crucial capacities for interim institutions’ smooth operation.
