Sara and Bongbong continue to lead Pulse Asia’s pre-election poll.
MANILA – According to the latest survey results from Pulse Asia Research, Inc., presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte are still the Filipino people’s top pick for president and vice president, respectively.
According to the latest Pulso ng Bayan pre-election national survey conducted by Pulse Asia from Feb. 18 to 23, Marcos reinforced his lead with a 60 percent voter preference, putting him 45 percent ahead of his nearest rival.
Vice President Leni Robredo, who received 15% of the vote, was followed by Isko Domagoso, who received 10%, Manny Pacquiao, who received 8%, and Ping Lacson, who received 2%.
Other presidential candidates Faisal Mangondato received 0.4 percent, Leodegario de Guzman of the Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (0.1 percent), and Dr. Jose Montemayor Jr. of the Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (0.1 percent) (0.01 percent).
According to Pulse Asia, former presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella and former Department of National Defense (DND) secretary Norberto Gonzales have little popularity among the country’s people.
“The remaining 3 percent of potential voters are still indecisive about their presidential choice in May 2022 (3 percent), refuse to name their favorite presidential candidate (0.4 percent), or are not inclined to vote for any candidate (1 percent),” it continued.
The Pulse Asia poll also revealed Marcos’ continued domination in all key voting areas, with some areas even showing an increase in support for him.
He received a 66 percent vote preference in the National Capital Region (NCR), up from 57 percent in January of this year.
Marcos’ voter preference in Mindanao increased by 2% to 68 percent, up from 66 percent in January 2022.
In other places, Marcos’ voter support remained unwavering, with 58 percent in Balance Luzon and 53 percent in Mindanao.
The Pulse Asia survey results, according to Marcos’ camp, confirmed that the “Solid North” vote bloc remains unified behind Marcos’ presidential quest.
Marcos received 74% in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), 82% in the Ilocos Region (Region 1), and 86% in the Cagayan Valley (Region 2). Robredo, on the other hand, received only 1% in CAR, 7% in Region 1, and 6% in Region 2. Marcos’ spokesperson Vic Rodriguez commended the Filipino people for their “unwavering trust in the leadership talents and competency” of Marcos “to guide us through this most arduous moment of our history,” according to a statement.
“The Pulse Asia survey results have once again disproved the false narrative being pushed by a small part of our society about our current attitudes and voting preferences,” he stated. “While some may claim victory in ‘Twitter’ and ‘Google’ searches, frontrunner Bongbong Marcos is winning the battle with Filipinos.”
Sara is favored by 53% of voters.
A majority of the country’s probable voters want Duterte to be the next vice president, with 53 percent voting for him.
Senator Vicente Sotto III received the most votes (24%), followed by Robredo’s running mate Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan (11%), Dr. Willie Ong (6%), Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza (1%), Manny Lopez, and Walden Bello (0.1%), Carlos Serapio (0.01%), and Rizalito David (0.01%).
Duterte received 82 percent of registered voters in Mindanao, 48 percent in the NCR, 41 percent in the Balance of Luzon, and 51 percent in the Visayas.
Meanwhile, with 66.9% of the vote, broadcaster Raffy Tulfo remains the top pick for Senate, followed by former Senator Loren Legarda (58.9%), former Public Works Secretary Mark Villar (56.2%), Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri (50.5%), and former Senator Chiz Escudero (49.8 percent).
Former Vice President Jejomar Binay (46 percent), Senator Sherwin Gatchalian (45 percent), Senator Joel Villanueva (42 percent), former Senator Jinggoy Estrada (39 percent), former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista (33 percent), Senator Risa Hontiveros (32 percent), and former Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito (32 percent) rounded out the top 12 senatorial candidates (32 percent).
Pulse Asia Research claims to conduct pre-election polls independently, “without any single party commissioning the research work.”
The face-to-face interviews performed by Pulse Asia drew a total of 2,400 adult respondents.
At the 95 percent confidence level, the survey’s results have a 2% error margin.
