The redesigned website and application process for ‘Balik Probinsya’ has been launched.
MANILA, Philippines — The Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-Asa (BP2) program said on Friday that starting April 22, it will formally move its website to www.balikprobinsya.nha.gov.ph, with the present www.balikprobinsya.ph being decommissioned.
The government will make it easier for applicants to apply for the BP2 program in three ways under the new system: through their own barangays (villages), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), or by visiting the BP2 Depot along Agham Road in Diliman, Quezon City.
On May 6, 2020, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Executive Order No. 114 to formalize the BP2 initiative, which intends to relieve congestion in Metro Manila’s urban regions by encouraging individuals, particularly informal settlers, to return to their home provinces.
The BP2 program provides immediate support in the form of a transportation stipend, travel expenses, and emergency financial assistance.
Applicants may get livelihood and employment possibilities, a transitory support package, and transitory shelter aid through the government’s whole-of-nation strategy.
Those affected by government projects and legal demolition activities, as well as families living on the streets or in danger zones, those affected by human-caused or natural disasters, including health hazards such as the coronavirus disease pandemic of 2019, those who lost their jobs or income opportunities, and informal settlers, according to the DSWD.
Individuals who are marginalized, impoverished, or vulnerable and want to start over in the countryside can also apply.
Other scenarios that are deemed acceptable and valid by the social workers throughout the application period may be considered eligible.
Applicants may contact the DSWD at balikprobinsya@dswd.gov.ph or call the hotline at (02) 8952-0697 or (02) 8931-8101, local 513, for further information.
The types of services and overall quantity of support provided to each family will differ depending on the DSWD’s evaluation, which will be done in collaboration with local social welfare officers, partner stakeholders, and DSWD field offices.
During their transition phase in the provinces, the DSWD will also provide psychosocial support.
