MANILA, Philippines — Despite his dismal performance in polls, outgoing Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is on par with his presidential run competitors in terms of public popularity.

The Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer has expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from around the country on numerous occasions.

The “Isigaw mo, Isko” concert rally in this city on Sunday did not disappoint, with organizers estimating that 80,000 people attended the event, which took place at the corner of Maria Orosa and Kalaw Streets in the Ermita neighborhood.

Domagoso expressed gratitude to the attendees, who he said comprised not only Manileos but also individuals from neighboring provinces, in an ambush interview.

“Today (Sunday), around 80% are volunteers and supporters from Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Southern Luzon,” Domagoso said.

On Friday, his team hosted back-to-back concert rallies in Lapu-Lapu City, with over 35,000 people flocking to the Mactan Shrine, followed by a free concert the next day at the Toledo City Sports Center parking lot, which drew about 20,000 people.

According to Domagoso, the Aksyon Demokratiko team is eager to visit more regions and cities around the country.

Domagoso stated that the occasion allowed him to spend time with his family so that others may see how ordinary and normal they are.

Dynee, Frances, and Joaquin are also campaigning for the mayorship.
