The pandemic response ‘playbook’ created by the PRRD administration will serve as a reference for future leaders.

MANILA – The government is adamant that the National Covid-19 vaccine program’s accomplishments would be sustained through a development plan.

With the help of the World Health Organization, the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19, the Department of Health (DOH), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government have begun drafting a document containing the National Deployment and Vaccination Plan (NDVP) for Covid-19 Vaccines to ensure the continuation of inoculation efforts.

Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the NTF’s chief, said on April 6 and 8 that a “writeshop” was held to draft a document that could be passed on to the future administration.

“This will ensure that our continuing large vaccination will continue, and we will be more aggressive to ensure that all people have their protection,” Galvez stated on PTV-4 late Monday night during a prerecorded “Talk to the People.”

He stated that the National Vaccination Operations Center and the Department of Health are dedicated to maintaining the country’s effective pandemic response, notably the mammoth vaccination campaign that has fully immunized 66.6 million Filipinos to far.

“Kailangan pa rin po ang immunization natin even after our administration (We need to keep vaccination going even after our administration),” Galvez remarked. “Mr. President, iyong initial triumph po natin, ay ilalagay po natin sa textbook para may playbook na po ang susunod na administrasyon,” he added.

The NDVP will include the necessary processes for vaccination policies and strategies, as well as the vaccination program’s key components.

“(G)agawa po ng dokumento para ma-i-transfer po natin (We’ll produce a document so we can transfer it to the future administration),” Galvez added.

Regulatory readiness, planning and coordination, costing and funding, identification of target populations, vaccine delivery strategies, supply chain management and waste management, human resource management and training, acceptance and uptake, vaccine safety and quality monitoring, management of adverse events after immunization and injecting safety, vaccination monitoring system, and vaccine effectiveness will all be included in the playbook.
