‘Agaton’ has impacted 35 roadways.
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Tuesday that Tropical Depression Agaton had damaged 35 roads in seven areas.
Due to the onslaught of Tropical Depression Agaton, which produced severe floods, landslides, and road cuts, DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado said that as of noon, a total of 16 national road sections in Regions 6, 7, and 8 are closed to all sorts of vehicles.
In Regions 4-A, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12, however, 19 routes still have limited access.
He further stated that DPWH Quick Response Teams have been dispatched to the affected locations to conduct clearing operations. Six roads in Regions 6 and 8 have been cleared and reopened so far.
Current road closures have been identified by the DPWH-Bureau of Maintenance in the following areas: In Region 6, flooding has caused flooding on the Iloilo Capiz Road in Bitoon Ilawod to Poblacion, Cuatero, Sto Angel Dumalag, and Angub Cuartero in Capiz; JNR Ayuyan Tinaytayan Road, Sto Angel Dumalag to Dangula Dumarao in Capiz; JNR Cuartero-Maindang-Tapulang-Maayon Road,
The Cebu-Toledo Wharf Road (Camp 6) in Brgy. Manipis, Talisay City, Cebu were also shut down owing to soil erosion.

Meanwhile, Region 4-A — Marikina-Infanta Road, K0107+380 in Quezon, which is one-lane passable owing to soil collapse, is one of the 19 highways with limited access.
