MANILA, Philippines — Since the start of the pandemic, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) has processed nearly 240 million doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines.

The Bureau said in a statement that as of March 2022, it had managed the rapid release of 243 million vaccine doses from various sources around the world.

Pfizer has 91 million vaccinations cleared, Sinovac has 56 million, AstraZeneca has 38.8 million, Moderna has 34 million, and Johnson & Johnson has 12.7 million. Sputnik V has a population of ten million, Sinopharm has a population of one million, and Sinopharm has a population of 100,000. (Hayat Vax).

Covid-19 vaccinations came from China, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Russia.

The majority of the vaccines were handled through the BOC – Port of NAIA, with the remainder passing through the Cebu ports of Davao and Mactan Subport.

The vaccines completed advance clearance procedures, according to the BOC, to ensure their timely release and delivery.

The BOC’s CoVax Special Handling Taskforce, which included members from NAIA’s Customs Examiners, Enforcement and Security Service, and Aircraft Operations Division, was also in charge of security.

On the other hand, 16,142 shipments of various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been processed and cleared, according to the report.

The BOC – Port of NAIA’s One-Stop-Shop, which worked closely with the Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, was able to expedite the clearance of PPE sets and Covid-19 vaccines.
