To grow its business, a logistics company is turning to franchise.

MANILA, Philippines — To extend its business statewide, a three-year-old logistics company based in the province of Bulacan is turning to franchise.

BEXCS Logistics Solutions, Inc., or Bulacan Express Courier Services, will open its doors to franchisees who want to offer the company’s delivery services.

Marjorey Medina-Rubio, founder and president of BEXCS Logistics, said at the opening of the company’s franchising business at the Newport Theater in Pasay City on Friday that the company plans to open 360 branches across the country this year.

BEXCS presently has ten branches, four of which are controlled by the corporation and six through joint ventures, according to Medina-Rubio in an interview.

“The (logistics) business is so vast and so high,” she said on the margins of the event, “and we’re betting on that possibility for our growth, especially in this new normal.”

According to Medina-Rubio, the company differs from other third-party logistics firms in that it can tailor its services to the needs of its clients.

BEXCS Logistics can handle everything from quick parcel delivery between an online seller and a client to international shipping, land, air, and sea freight, and warehousing and inventory management.

Customers can also use BEXCS Logistics as a remittance and payment center.

Alegria Simbal-Limjoco, the vice-chair of the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA), noted that franchising logistics businesses are relevant in the new normal, given the accelerated digital transformation and the “golden age of logistics.”
