How to look for remote-only jobs on the major job boards?
Here’s how to use your favorite employment site to find a ton of remote jobs.
Are you being called back to the office, but you don’t want to give up your stress-free mornings? Do you enjoy holding meetings while on the treadmill? Have you ever saved money on lunches?
The good news is that there are far more remote-friendly employers now than they were previously. Here’s where you can locate a new boss if yours hasn’t yet seen the light.
LINKEDIN
Isn’t LinkedIn your first port of call when looking for a new job? You can save a lot of time by narrowing down your job searches to only show remote opportunities.
The “All filters” button is hidden in the far-right corner of the navigation area at the top of the page. Then go to the “On-Site/Remote” area, where you can choose between on-site, remote, or a combination of the two options.
INDEED.COM
Indeed has a simple method for obtaining remote-only listings. Each page has two search boxes at the top. Simply type “Remote” in the “Where” box on the right and select the remote option from the pre-populated selection.
After that, you’ll see a long list of remote-friendly employment.
MONSTER.COM
This one was a little tough, but I managed to figure it out. On Monster.com, look for a job but leave the location field blank.
Then, on the search results page, click the Filter button in the upper-right corner, and in the pop-up box, look for a “Remote jobs only” option in the upper-left corner.
SIMPLYHIRED
SimplyHired, like Indeed, takes a clear remote-only approach. There are two search boxes: one on the right may handle actual geographic locations, and one on the left can merely input “Remote” to see results for jobs that are only available remotely.
GLASSDOOR
You can put “Remote” as your location in the related search box in the Glassdoor Jobs section, or you can click the “More” box in the upper-right corner of the job postings and toggle the “Work From Home Only” option.
ZIPRECRUITER
ZipRecruiter insisted that I search for jobs depending on my location. I was able to get around the problem by putting “remote” at the end of the job title in the left search field and then eliminating the location in the right search box intentionally.
It then presented me with a plethora of remote-based career opportunities.
