MANILA, Philippines — Before the conclusion of his term on June 30, the Duterte administration will thank everyone for their support and remind Filipinos of President Rodrigo Duterte’s distinctive “Tapang at Malasakit” (courage and compassion) leadership style.

The Duterte Legacy Summit, hosted by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) and the Office of Global Media and Public Affairs (OGMPA), will highlight the Duterte administration’s accomplishments from May 30 to 31 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City, according to a press release from the PCOO.

“The two-day event will be our final act of thanking and recognizing President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s ‘Tapang at Malasakit’ governance, as well as his Cabinet members and all public servants who have brought impactful changes and meaningful developments to the Filipino people,” said Martin Andanar, acting presidential spokesperson and PCOO Secretary.

Duterte will provide a video message regarding the conference, with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea giving the keynote address and Cabinet Secretary Melvin Matibag closing comments.

Some Cabinet officials will give public presentations on their successes, policies, and initiatives that have improved Filipinos’ lives over the last six years, while recipients of government projects and programs will share their success stories and testimonials.

The summit will also highlight the Duterte administration’s main campaign promises, including the Universal Health Care Law and the Malasakit Center, Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education, the Bangsamoro Organic Law, the anti-illegal narcotics campaign, and migrant worker protection.

A photo display and a book on the legacy

After the program, The Virtual Presser (TVP) will be held on the sidelines of the summit for local and international media.

The PCOO and the Bureau of Communications Services will also put up a Duterte Legacy Photo Exhibit, which will feature significant and monumental events that have occurred since July 2016. (BCS).

“This concludes our investigation. “How the Duterte administration conducted its job in the name of public service would leave a lasting and exceptional impression on the people,” Andanar added.

Andanar will also release the PCOO Legacy book, which highlights the agency’s successes and vastly improved operations.

“The legacy book provides an overview of how the PCOO became the main catalyst for change in government communications and media operations in support of the country’s overall growth and improvement,” he added.

The PCOO initiated the Duterte Legacy campaign in January 2020 to highlight the Duterte administration’s successes and convey the tales of individuals who benefited from them.

The campaign included caravans and town hall meetings in various regions, as well as the production of short movies, publications, and other digital campaign materials.

The People’s Television Network (PTV) for media coverage and Radio Television Malacanang (RTVM) for online live streaming on Facebook and YouTube will give comprehensive coverage of this two-day event by the PCOO and its affiliated agencies.
