DFA: PH receives assistance from Japan
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Japan has provided humanitarian aid to the Philippines for the victims of the recent magnitude 7 earthquake that struck Abra and adjacent regions.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) reportedly donated camping tents, sleeping mats, generators, plastic sheets, and water containers on August 2.
“May this clause help the Philippine government’s relief efforts and lessen the burden on the earthquake-devastated communities. Japan stands with you throughout this trying moment. In the Philippines, we are with you. Kasama nyo kami “Kazuhiko Koshikawa, the Japanese ambassador to the Philippines, stated in a separate statement.
JICA Chief Representative Takema Sakamoto, DFA Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Jesus Domingo, and DSWD Assistant Secretary for Special Projects Rommel Lopez were also present during the turnover event.
