Meeting Huang, PBBM affirms commitment to strengthening PH-China relations.

The Philippines’ president, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., has reaffirmed his commitment to improving ties with China.

This came following Marcos’ Wednesday meeting at Manila’s Malacanang Palace with Huang Xilian, China’s ambassador to the Philippines.

In a Facebook post, Marcos stated, “We greeted the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Huang Xilian, in a courtesy call yesterday.” “We are very appreciative of the visit and look forward to further enhancing the ties between China and the Philippines for the good of our peoples,” the Philippines said.

Marcos’ meeting with Huang was documented in photos that were also posted on the President’s Facebook page.

For his part, Huang said it was an “extreme honor” to pay Marcos a courtesy call.

Huang expressed hope for the future development of ties between China and the Philippines under the incoming administration.

“We talked about ways to improve ties between China and the Philippines for the good of both of our peoples. I have every confidence that the China-Philippines relationship will continue to develop and reap more benefits in the years to come under the strategic leadership of Presidents Xi Jinping and Marcos, “On Thursday, he added.

Huang also had a meeting with Marcos in May to congratulate him on winning the elections on May 9, 2022 on behalf of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

China expressed its intention to “push the two countries’ Relationship of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation to new heights” in its congratulations.

Additionally, on June 30 and July 6, Marcos met with Wang Qishan, the vice president of China, and Wang Yi, the state councilor and foreign minister of China.

He has pledged to uphold the “solid friendship” between China and the Philippines.

In addition to congratulating Marcos, Xi promised to strengthen the “strategic and long-term” bilateral ties between the two nations.

The “great chapter of China-Philippines friendship and cooperation for the new era” will also be continued, he pledged.

Marcos had received a visitation invitation from the Chinese administration.

Although there is no definite date, Marcos accepts the invitation during his conversation with Wang.
