With the opening of 175 vacancies, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) is seeking a new breed of employees.

One hundred forty-seven immigration officers and 28 administrative assistants are included, according to Norman Tansingco, the immigration commissioner.

The new hires will be placed at different national offices and the country’s principal ports.

In a statement, he said, “The agency is taking steps to ensure improvement of our services to the traveling public, especially now that the country is on the road to recovery.”

He continued by saying that the agency needs a new generation of officers with a desire and sense of patriotism for public service.

“This is how we adapt to the times as they change. To ensure efficiency at our ports, the BI head remarked that we must maintain our frontlines with vigor.

Before being hired, applicants would need to pass several tests and interviews.

Tansingco continued, “It’s a strict selection procedure, but this is how we ensure that we have the best personnel to guard our borders.

By September 30th, interested candidates must submit their applications through the BI’s career site at careers.immigration.gov.ph.
